Service to Tupper Lake, NY in 2022.

Picture our trains, decked out in Adirondack Railroad colors, parading into the more remote areas of the Adirondack Park. That will fulfill our mission statement from the founding of ARPS in 1992.
Adding to that, we’d like to plan local train and railbike service out of our new northern terminus, Tupper Lake Station.
This new service calls for at least one more locomotive plus a high-rail truck, needed to help us get safely and efficiently to Tupper Lake.
Q: Isn’t the state doing the work of restoring the rails to Tupper Lake?
A: New York State grants for this project are strictly for construction. That’s the minimum – this is for the Adirondack Railroad to get an additional locomotive and a truck to support operations once the line is rehabbed.
