Travel from Utica’s Union Station north to Remsen Station, sampling a selection of wines or beers along the way. A different New York State winery and craft brewery will be along for the ride. We will provide some light snacks and music. Additional beer, wine, and non alcoholic beverages are available for purchase.

Ride in our first class car and enjoy gourmet hor d’oeuvres with table service along with samplings of choice beer and wine. All first class passengers will have table seating.

Designated drivers can now ride the train for a discounted $10.00 off normal ticket price. Designated drivers will receive a wristband and can’t participate in wine or beer tasting; however, will receive free soda or water and complimentary snacks.

Must be 21 years old to ride all I.D.'s. Bags will be checked, no outside alcohol is permitted.

This trip accomodates standard sized wheelchairs, please allow for extra boarding time.

  • Q: Where is Remsen?
  • A: Remsen is a small town in New York with its station located 20 miles north of Utica, NY. The original station was built in the early 1850's, the present station is a replica constructed in 1999 by Remsen Development Corporation.

  • Q: How long are we stopped at Remsen Station and what do we do during the stop in Remsen?
  • A: We stop for about 30 minutes. Feel free to disembark the train to stretch your legs while our crew switches the engine of the train from one end to the other to pull us back to Utica Station. Inside Remsen Depot there are items in the gift shop available for purchase, as well as a concession stand and restrooms.

  • Q: What is the difference between First Class and coach?
  • A: In addition to your wine and beer tasting, First Class passengers enjoy hot appetizers along with a variety of snacks and table service. All First Class passengers will have table seating and also have the ability to roam the cars to enjoy the music in the baggage car. In addition to buying a bottle of wine, First Class passengers may also choose to buy wine by the glass.

  • Q: Can we bring our own alcohol?
  • A: New York State law prohibits bringing any carry on alcoholic beverages on board the train. We reserve the right to check any bags before the train to ensure that no outside alcohol is brought on the train.

  • Q: Is there any hard alcohols or liquors served on the train?
  • A: No. Bags may be checked to ensure that no outside alcohol is brought on the train.

  • Q: I smoke, is there a dedicated place for me to have a cigarette?
  • A: Smoking is prohibited in every car and vestibule on the train. However, smoking is allowed outside on the platform before you depart. Please remember to deposit your cigarette butts responsibly.

  • Q: Is this trip wheelchair-accessible?
  • A: Yes, with some exceptions. Please take not the restrooms on board are not handicap accessible. If you are bringing a wheelchair, we request that you please notify us when you make your reservation. The wheelchair must be in a normal standard size. Unfortunately large scooters or motorized wheelchairs can't be accommodated as they are too wide for our aisles. Please arrive earlier than the recommended arrival time to allow for extra time for boarding.

  • Q: Is there food available?
  • A: We provide light snacks (chips dip, cheese, crackers, etc.) while on the train. There are additional snacks for purchase at the Remsen Depot. In addition to the snacks mentioned above, First Class passengers also receive two hot appetizers. For Special arrangements due to diabetic or allergies please inquire when you make your reservation.

  • Q: Are bottles of wine available to purchase after the train for us to take home?
  • A: No, a bottle purchased while on the train must be consumed or disposed of before disembarking the train.

  • Q: Are there any discounts for large groups?
  • A: There are special group rates available for groups over 25 people. Please contact us well in advance of your trip to make sure that we are able to accommodate the size of your group.
